Ranch to Table
Russ Hubbard is a proud 4th generation Oregonian, general contractor, developer and artist. After completing Portland's first live/work project on NW Upshur Street, Russ realized the neighborhood needed a gathering place for quality comfort food at a fair price. Incorporating a desire to celebrate the industrial history of NW Portland, he designed, and in tandem with his son Hawley Hubbard, built the Industrial Cafe and Saloon.
In July of 2004, The Industrial Cafe opened with Mary Hubbard as manager. 10 years later, we continue to enjoy serving our NW neighbors delicious reasonably priced food and drink, including in-house cured and smoked meats, made from scratch desserts and our own 100% grass fed and grass finished beef, raised by Hawley in St Helens, Oregon.
We raise our beef for the restaurant in St Helens, Oregon, about 30 miles NW of Portland. Our cattle are a breed called Limousin which originated in France. They are 100% grass fed and grass finished, which results in exceptionally lean and delicious beef. 100% grass fed beef is lower in fat, has more omega-3 fatty acids, and more antioxidants than grain fed beef.
